Background

Jeff Hardy grew up a fan of wrestling and alternative music. Two of his favourite wrestlers were The Ultimate Warrior and Sting.

Hardy would say to TPWW.net

"I was a combination of Sting and the Ultimate Warrior. Sting at the time was in NWA, or when it became WCW, and the Warrior was in WWE."

 

One of Jeff's earliest wrestling characters was "Wolverine", wearing Sting like facepaint.

In late 2001/early 2002 the Hardy Boys tag team started to experiment with UV lights for their entrances. Jeff would take it one step further in Spring 2002 and start adding paint to his face and usually just one of his arms.

Jeff continues to wear that style of face paint throughout the next few years, and upon his return to WWE and started wearing full face paint more regularly in his main event run in WWE.

A few years later, Jeff would go one step further and start painting eyes over his eyelids. 

Jeff rarely has the same face paint twice, he stats that it takes him up to 45 minutes each time to apply it all. He loves the creative process of doing it.

Jeff is my all time favourite wrestler. It feels like he got the same kind of fan support that Sting has, and mixed it with his daredevil style. 

Jeff has had issues throughout the years, but he has always had the fans support.
