Name: Glenn Jacobs (AKA Kane)
D.O.B April 26th 1967
Background
Glen Jacobs is most famous for playing the masked wrestler Kane, but he actually had 2 masked characters prior to "The Big Red Machine".
Glenn would work in SMW (Smoky Mountain Wrestling) in 1995 as "Unabomb", which was (a reference to the Unabomber) - although I believe he only wore the mask in his entrance.
He would also have two stints (1992/93 and 1997) as Doomsday in USWA (United States Wrestling Association).
Glenn Jacobs as the Christmas Creature |
It was during his time in SMW he would become the ill fated "Christmas Creature". Fortunately that wouldn't last long.
Jacobs re-debut in WWF as Kane |
After a few different characters, Glenn would make his return to WWE in late 1997 as the masked monster Kane.
Although people knew he previously played an unmasked character, Glenn went to great lengths to always keep his face covered when not in character.
You see, Kane was supposed to be a burns victim.
Glenn would often wear a ski mask, or keep his head covered with a towel when entering and exiting the areas.
Kane would under go many attire changes, adding a sleeve, inverting colours and eventually he started wearing a singlet rather than the body suit he debuted in.
In the summer of 2002, Kane returned from injury, sporting a new mask that removed the mouth part.
Kane in 2002 |
Kane wrestled in that attire for most of the following year, but then lost a Mask VS Title Match against HHH. This was the fist time Kane was seen fully unmasked.
The following week, he would reveal his new look, showing that the burns were superficial and going full bald.
In 2006 in a storyline that didn't last long, an imposter Kane attacked the real Kane. The imposter Kane wore Kane's original attire.
Kane returned in 2011 with a new mask, similar to his 2002/03 mask. Also debuting a new entrance mask.
Kane would wrestle on and off for the next few years, he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2021. He is currently the Mayor of Knox County
Authors Note:
Legitimately striking fear into fans of the WWE, just like his on screen brother did 7 years prior, Kane will always be considered one of the best characters in WWE history.
